Webinar- Advance Directives with Melissa Lindley

Oregon Advanced Directive: Your Voice for the Future

An Oregon Advanced Directive is a legal document that outlines your wishes regarding your medical care if you are unable to make decisions for yourself. This could happen due to illness, injury, or other circumstances.

Why is it important?
Peace of mind:
Knowing your wishes are documented can provide comfort to you and your loved ones.
Avoid uncertainty: An advanced directive can help prevent difficult decisions for your family during a stressful time.
Respect your wishes: It ensures that your medical care aligns with your values and beliefs.

What does it cover?
Medical treatment:
Whether you want life-sustaining measures like a ventilator or dialysis.
Do-Not-Resuscitate (DNR) order: If you want to avoid CPR in the event of a cardiac or respiratory arrest.
Organ donation: Your wishes regarding organ donation.
Healthcare agent: Designating someone you trust to make medical decisions on your behalf.

By creating an Oregon Advanced Directive, you take control of your healthcare decisions and ensure your wishes are honored.
