McMenamins Boon's Treasury Friends & Family Night, a fundraising event on Tuesday March 11, 2025, from 5:00p,m – 10:00pm. Funds raised at the event will support our Grief Care Expansion Project. This is an event hosted by the WVH Board of Directors.

This seven-week grief support group for adults and children ages 6-17 is offered at our office location in West Salem. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to attend. Participants are placed in groups according to age: 6-8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18+. This allows us to provide age-appropriate activities for each group. Trained staff and volunteers facilitate each group, providing both children and adults with a safe space to express their personal journeys and emotions. Activities include art (kids), discussion (adults), and music therapy (all ages). There is no charge, but registration is required. Families with children ages 6-17 are encouraged to attend Camp Mighty Oaks, a one-day camp experience for children who have experienced the death of a loved one. At Camp Mighty Oaks, families will celebrate the memory of their loved one on a summer day full of fun-filled activities that promote hope and healing. All activities are optional and are grouped by age. Lunch and snacks are included. More information coming spring of 2025

Save the Date! Step out for pets and people at WVH's annual family-friendly dog walk, and help raise funds to support our local Pet Peace of Mind(R) program, and Grief Care services. Join dogs and pet-lovers for a fun walk in the park, vendor village, raffle baskets, food truck, and dog games. Sign up for a sitting with a caricature artist, or get a professional photo of your dog for the annual poster contest. More information coming soon!
