Six-week grief support groups are offered throughout the year for adults who have lost a loved one. Gain support from others experiencing grief and loss as you increase your understanding of the grief process. There is no charge to attend, but registration is required. This seven-week grief support group for adults and children ages 6-17 is offered at our office location in West Salem. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to attend. Participants are placed in groups according to age: 6-8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18+. This allows us to provide age-appropriate activities for each group. Trained staff and volunteers facilitate each group, providing both children and adults with a safe space to express their personal journeys and emotions. Activities include art (kids), discussion (adults), and music therapy (all ages). There is no charge, but registration is required. Families with children ages 6-17 are encouraged to attend Camp Mighty Oaks, a one-day camp experience for children who have experienced the death of a loved one. At Camp Mighty Oaks, families will celebrate the memory of their loved one on a summer day full of fun-filled activities that promote hope and healing. All activities are optional and are grouped by age. Lunch and snacks are included. More information coming spring of 2025
