Our Mission

The mission of
Willamette Valley Hospice is to enhance the quality of life for terminally ill persons and their families, to provide bereavement support for the caregivers and families of our patients and members of the community, and to educate the community about end of life philosophy and programs.

Grief Support Groups for Adults

Six week grief support groups for adults are offered throughout the year. Participants gain support from others experiencing grief and loss as they gain an understanding of the grief process. Support groups are facilitated by professional bereavement counselors.

Grief Support Groups for Ages 5 Years to Adults

Six week grief support groups for 5-17 year olds are offered at our office location throughout the year. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to attend. Adult grief groups are also available to adults bringing children to these groups. Adults without children are welcome to attend the adult groups. Support groups are facilitated by professional bereavement counselors.

Drop-In Grief Groups for Adults

Our drop-in support groups are available to anyone seeking support after the death of a loved one in the last two years.  The groups are open to any adult who lives in our community.  Anyone is welcome to attend any month that looks interesting to them or all months.  There is no commitment on the participant's part to attend a specific number of sessions or specific sessions. Trained facilitators lead groups.

Individual Grief Counseling for Adults and Children

We offer individual and family grief counseling to those who have experienced the recent death of a loved one. Bereavement counselors are available to discuss your situation with you and offer resources, support, or referral information. Individual counseling sessions are available at no cost on a brief/short term basis.

Grief Support Groups in Schools

Six week grief support groups are facilitated by our staff in local schools. If you are a school counselor interested in having a grief group at your school place please contact us with your request. Parents who are interested in a group at their child's school should contact their child's school counselor.
