Our Mission

The mission of
Willamette Valley Hospice is to enhance the quality of life for terminally ill persons and their families, to provide bereavement support for the caregivers and families of our patients and members of the community, and to educate the community about end of life philosophy and programs.
 

 

 

Cancer Resources

     

American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) - The Society provides information on all aspects of cancer through a toll-free information line, web site, and published materials.

Asbestos & Mesothelioma Resource Center (www.asbestos.net) A comprehensive resource on asbestos and its devastating effects, including mesothelioma, asbestos cancer, and other asbestos-related diseases. Made up of thousands easy-to-understand articles reviewed by a licensed oncologist.

Children's Cancer Association (www.childrenscancerassociation.org) - The Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in loving memory of five-year-old Alexandra Ellis who courageously fought cancer for two and half years before she died on May 7, 1995. In the year of Alexandra’s death, CCA was born. Since then, CCA has worked to offer award-winning programs, along with information, advocacy and support that help enrich the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families.

National Kidney Cancer Association (www.CureKidneyCancer.org) - An organization of patients, families, doctors and healthcare professionals involved with kidney cancer.

National Children’s Cancer Society (www.NationalChildrensCancerSociety.com) – Organization that helps children with cancer through our nationwide programs and services.

American Lung Cancer (http://www.lungusa.org) - Offers information on lung disease in all its forms.

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (http://www.komen.org) - Offers information, resources and additional links on breast cancer.

Cancer Net (www.cancernet.nci.nih.gov) – Current information from the National Cancer Institute.

Mesothelioma (www.mesotheliomaweb.org) - Information, support, and help regarding mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer of the lining of the lung (pleura) or the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum),
