Our Mission

The mission of
Willamette Valley Hospice is to enhance the quality of life for terminally ill persons and their families, to provide bereavement support for the caregivers and families of our patients and members of the community, and to educate the community about end of life philosophy and programs.

Association for Death Education and Counseling (www.adec.org) - Offers education on death, bereavement counseling, and care of the dying.

Barbara Karnes Books (www.gonefrommysight.com) - Booklets about living with a life-limiting illness, the dying process, and grieving.  Available in different languages including Spanish and Russian.

DyingWell.org (www.dyingwell.org) - This web site provides written resources and information from Dr. Ira Byock, long time palliative care physician and advocate for improved end-of-life care.

Growth House, Inc. (www.growthhouse.org) - International web site of resources focusing on life-threatening illness and end of life care.

Hospice Foundation of America (www.hospicefoundation.org) - A nonprofit organization that promotes hospice care and works to educate professionals and the families they serve in issues relating to care giving, terminal illness, loss and bereavement.

Hospice Net (www.hospicenet.org/html/bereavement.html) -This site provides a guide to the grief process, helps identify needs, helps teens and young children cope with grief and many others resources for those experiencing the loss of a loved one.
